A Bit More About Us
I have been crazy about flying and all things aerial since my first flight on an airplane way back when. It was a Boeing 707 and I crossed the Atlantic and could not keep my face from being plastered to the window. The views from up there and the clouds, they were amazing and that has never left me.
My photography started as a hobby and then while pursuing a degree in Commercial Art I was taken aside by my professor during a course in photography. He asked me if I had ever thought about going into photography as a profession. We spoke at length and he convinced me that this was the correct path for my future. I attended what was then the "Ohio Institute of Photography" outside of Dayton, Ohio. It was one of the top ten photography schools in the US. I was accepted into their Corporate Photography program and immediately knew I had made the right decision.
One of my classes included aerial photography and we actually spent several days flying over the Dayton
area,
doors off, and leaning outside of the plane as it banked
to capture the perfect shot. At that point my love of
flying and of photography seemed to meld together. I
instantly knew that this was going to be a big part of
my career and I couldn't wait to get back into an
aircraft, camera in hand.
So fast forward some thirty years, and after too many plane flights for fun and business to remember, and too many aerial assignments in both fixed wing and rotor aircraft to count, I am embracing the fantastic technology of the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) or more typically known as Drones. Besides the cost savings, they offer huge advantages over hiring a plane and can get immediate results by a simple download to a laptop or tablet, or even a mobile device. The image quality in both the stills and the video is incredible. Whether I am shhoting for a comemrcial client of myself, the types of images that can be had from the extremely good maneuverability of these unmanned aircraft is unsurpassed.
